For those of you who's in a relationship, you're probably preparing for this day all week! This might even be the second best day you've been waiting for next to your anniversary (unless your anniversary falls on the same day). This is the time where guys walking around with a huge balloon and a bouquet of flowers in hand is a normal sight and everywhere you go, you see couples being oh so sweet- this could be a sad view for us single ladies and gents...NAAAH, JUST KIDDING.
Anyway, if you still don't have an outfit for whatever your plan for tomorrow is... Here are some of my outfit idea:
1. Romantic First Class Dinner Date
Less gimmick but the sincerity and intimacy is felt no less. Of course if your man is taking you to a first class restaurant for your valentine's dinner, the pressure of dressing up is greater. Tip: Prior to any event, or even when there is no event or occasion at all, make sure that there is a complete ensemble in your wardrobe that you can pull out anytime you are invited to a formal gathering.
- Always go for dresses that accentuates your best asset.
- Choose plain ones or those with less details rather than those with loud prints and cutouts, or overly showy dresses- these kind of dresses are good for a night out with the girls but NEVER for a formal dinner. Besides, these "plain" dresses are easier to dress up if you want to go wild or go classy. I consider it a more practical haul but fun prints and cutouts are a good buy, too.
- Nude and Black Platforms or Pumps are your bestfriend! These shoes elongate your legs and instantly glams up any outfit.
- Clutch bags- Girls are famous for carrying enormous bags that a lot of guys I know frequently asks me why girls have to carry their whole wardrobe with them all the time. Ha~ I wish I know the RIGHT answer to this question. I always answer them by saying "It's a girl thing, you'll never understand. Why bother?" Lol. Anyway, this is not the time for you girls to bring EVERYTHING. Invest in a good clutch bag, one where you can put all your necessities- money, cards, phone, favorite lipstick, and a compact powder/mirror, no more, no less. All you need for a quick retouch is a powder to lessen those unwanted oils and a lipstick to brighten up your face again.
- ACCESSORIES! Girls, please, don't be scared to accessorize! It's the perfect time to bring out your favorite hand me down ring, your enormous gold necklace, your pair of earrings you never use when you go to school or work, etc. Just don't overdo it. If you're wearing a loud statement necklace, lay off the dangling earrings or vice versa.
A. Dress: The Pretty Dress Company Shoes: Giuseppe Zannoti Clutch: Roberto Cavali Ring: Kate Spade
B. Dress: Ralph Lauren Blue Label Marcella Dress Shoes: Lipsy Platform Court Shoes Clutch: Coast Naomi Bangle: River Island Necklace: AUDEN Lenox Bib Necklace
C. Dress: Suzy Perette Shoes: Aldo Necklace: First People First Earrings: Kate Spade Ring: Swarovski Clutch: House of Harlow
2. Laid-Back Date
I don't know about you guys but I prefer the laid-back date over a fancy dinner. Movie night and dinner, a stroll in the park, whatever. I would even consider a movie marathon night at home, with a few cans of beers, a large tub of pop corn, and a box of garlic shrimp pizza, cuddling on the couch while watching our favorite movies the best date ever...*daydreams*
Oh sorry. Anyway, for a laid-back date it is much easier to dress up! But this is no excuse for you to wear just whatever. So here are a few suggestions:
- The Sexy Boyfriend Jeans! Ugh~ Roll the hems up a bit to show how sexy your feet are and wear white pumps or a heeled sandals for a more feminine look. Pair up this jeans with a classic white tee for a more laid-back look without looking effortless. For a more comfortable look, pair this with sneakers!
- Colored and Printed jeans- You'll never go wrong with colored and/or printed jeans when you pair it with plain tops. It balances out the loudness of your jeans. For your shoes, stick with black and white so as to emphasize your jeans. Slip on a black heeled sandals if you're feeling girly, or a chunky boots if you're feeling like a toughy, for a more laid-back feel pair it up with sneakers, make it look sexier by wearing a white pointed pumps, and if all else fails- stick to nude flats or pumps!
- Leather Jeans- If you're a little confused whether to go girly or not, try on a leather jeans! It's sexy without having too much of whatever. Pair it up with a fun printed top, sneakers or a laced up boots to complete the look.
I do know that some girls are part of the NO PANTS MOVEMENT (Like me!) So here are a few No-Pants style for you!

3. Weekend getaway with the besties!
Who said that Valentine's Day is only for couples? I do celebrate valentine's day with my best friends and it feels so darn right! HA!
For us single ladies, this is not an excuse for us to go sulking in the corner just because everyone around us is having the best night with their babe, honey, love, baby, sweety, babypumkinbooboo, yabadabycoochiemachiecoocoo, bububear, bubsylovesywuvsy... okay enough. Dress up, go out, have fun with your friends! Cupid might even hit you with his arrow and pair you up with the next hottie you see. So plan your night out with the girls! Skip the club- cause that is no place where you find true love! Okay fine maybe there's a small chance but still... go do something different! It's valentine's day!
Go on a roadtrip with the girls. Drive to the nearest place you have always wanted to go to! Just go. It doesn't have to be an ordinary day for us.
Valentine's Day is a day where you get to express your love. Nobody ever said it was only meant for a romantic partner. Tell everyone you love that you love them. Make them feel how special they are for you- whoever they maybe. Hug your parents. High five your siblings. Take them out for dinner. Text your girlfriends and do something fun. This is the day to be cheesy! So go out and enjoy love. Appreciate the love that everybody is expressing towards one another. This doesn't happen so often nowadays. :)
